Autism is a complex developmental disability that typically appears during the first three years of life. The result of a neurological disorder that affects the functioning of the brain, autism impacts the normal development of the brain in the areas of social interaction and communication skills. Children and adults with autism have difficulties in verbal and non-verbal communication, social interactions, and leisure or play activities. Autism is a lifelong developmental disability, one in every 110 children have autism.
The cost of Star is 20,000.00 due to all the care and training that has been put into her for the last two years and the training for Jace's family to transition her into their home, also for the ongoing training for every transition they will encounter for Jace for as long as Star lives. This website is part of the ongoing effort to raise the money to purchase Star for Jace to accept online donations securely using paypal and to raise much needed awareness for autism and how wonderful these dogs are for individuals and their families living with autism. Jace has already shown improvement from being with Star and will continue to have a better quality of life because of Star.
